This week, I’ve been slacking with my Cardio. For that reason, I decided to complete this Treadmill Workout. Lately, since switching to a mostly plant-based diet/lifestyle, I’ve been losing a bit of weight without needing Cardio. But this isn’t entirely about my weight, it’s about my cardiovascular health.
So, I have been doing (at minimum) a 10 minute jog/run every morning to jumpstart my day. Not only does it help to give me the energy to wake up, but it also revs up my metabolism and readily gets my body ready for the day!
“I don’t like running – how can I motivate myself to start?”
I get asked that a lot. The answer is simple… and you’ve heard it several times in advertising. Just Do It. It’s seriously that simple. If you force yourself into this routine, you’ll start getting used to it and love doing it. It really is a rush- that natural high that only exercise can give you. The best thing to do is plan to do it in the morning. Before going to sleep, set your alarm a tiny bit earlier. Set your running shoes, and outfit next to your bed so that you can see them as soon as your alarm goes off and remember what you wanted to get up so early for. Also, next to your running shoes/outfit, set a water bottle that’s filled up and ready to go. When that alarm goes off, remember the reason why you wanted to do this in the first place. Think of your overall well-being to motivate you to move out of bed and get that outfit on. That’s really all there is to it. As your mornings go by, you may even see yourself getting up 20 or 30 minutes earlier for a longer run because it’s such a great, natural energizer, and a great way to start the day. 🙂
So today after work, this is the workout I’ll be doing. the incline is at 1, but I’ll be doing it at 3. If you like a challenge you could up the speed by 1mph, and incline at 3-5. Enjoy that burn! 🙂
Always remember to stay hydrated. The more you drink, the more flawless your skin will look and feel. Water is very important for nourishing our daily cell growth, so grab your water bottle and chug!
