Protein Powder Review: Syntha-6 Isolate

I usually am very firm with taking as few supplements as possible, but sometimes you need that extra push to achieve your goals.

So today, I’m going to share with you one of my favorite protein powders:

Syntha-6 Isolate!

I am very picky when it comes to taste -and when it comes to protein powder, I’m even more particular. Protein powders tend to have a sort of chalky taste to them -I usually just force chug that chalk down- I really have no choice after buying a whole tub of powder, right?

But that’s one of the things about this particular powder -it tastes great, and you get that bang for your buck!

The best thing about this protein is that it is a 50/50 blend of whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate-  which makes it easier for your body to digest, and allows for your body to more easily absorb the nutrients – which in turn, makes for a great powder for people with a sensitive stomach (such as I). On top of that, the Isolate version of this powder also has less calories, carbohydrates, and fat.

I like to take this post workout, or as a breakfast shake -the choice is yours!

  • Taste: I like mixing this with water in my Nutri-Bullet blender and it tastes just like melted vanilla ice cream.
Texture: When blended, it comes out quite smooth; while using a blender bottle the results tend to vary but will come out just as smooth when shaken REALLY well.
  • Variations: Mixing it with 100% Orange Juice makes it taste like an orange creamcicle. Mixing it in water with frozen berries and chia seeds thickens it, and gives it a burst of natural sweetness. Mixing it with rolled oats makes it more of a meal-replacement, as it will keep you full for hours. Mixing it with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves with a couple of tablespoons of pumpkin make for a great seasonal. I have tried mixing it with grapefruit juice and grape juice and didn’t like the result of either of those.
  • Nutrition: I love the fact that it is low sodium and has very little sugar for the amount of protein you get (25g per scoop). I only wish it could be more condensed. …say that same amount of protein in a smaller scoop so that we can get more servings out of it -but I kinda wish that of EVERY protein powder so it’s really not a big deal.
  • Timing: Best time to take this protein sort of varies depending on your schedule. For me, I like to take it either in the morning as a breakfast replacement after my morning cardio, or in the evening post-workout with an extremely small dinner. Again, I can’t stress that enough because this sucker will make you feel full!

Here are the nutrition facts for 2lbs of Syntha-6 Isolate:

SCORE OUT OF 10: 8 -great taste, and is super smooth, but again, I just wish we could get more servings out of this.
